Top military officers have called on all soldiers and commanders to maintain high quality training for the success of grand celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day next month.
THE HANOI TIMES — Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nghia, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, on August 5 asked all units involved in Mission A80 to maintain high quality in their training.

Mission A80 refers to the rehearsals and participation in the military parade and procession for the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945) and Vietnam's National Day (September 2, 1945), to be held in Hanoi.
Gen. Nghia also directed the air force and navy to carry out coordinated formation rehearsals as approved in the official plan.
According to the plan, 40 aircraft, including SU-30MK2, YAK-130, L39-NG jets, helicopters, and transport planes, will take part in Mission A80. There have been 78 complete flight training sessions.
Naval forces, including submarines, missile frigates, guided missile boats, anti-submarine vessels, and the coast guard, have accomplished three rounds of joint drills.
Nghia also emphasized the importance of preparing all weapons and equipment in good technical condition for both training and rehearsals.
He urged commanders to ensure the health and safety of all soldiers, particularly through disease prevention, food hygiene, and measures against heatstroke and sun exposure.
In addition, careful preparations must be made to receive military delegations from other countries participating in the parade, with hospitality conducted respectfully and in line with international protocols.
Lieutenant General Do Xuan Tung, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics, praised the dedication and responsibility of all officers and soldiers, especially female individuals, to overcome difficulties and fulfill their duties with excellence.
General Tung called on all units to build on their achievements and learn from previous missions A70 and A50, reaffirming their determination to complete Mission A80.
He asked them to prepare well for the upcoming large-scale rehearsals and final reviews at Ba Dinh Square.
Throughout the entire process, he reminded troops to uphold the image of “Uncle Ho’s soldiers,” especially when interacting with the public, the media, and foreign guests.
